The Must-Read Book: The Accidental Salesperson: How to Take Control of Your Sales Career and Earn the Respect and Income You Deserve

Book Review: Accidental Salesperson Delivers

Rating: 5 stars

This book was recommended to me by an experienced salesperson. I am so grateful. Sales will never be my strong suit, but at least Chris Lytle has put it into terms I can deal with.

Book Review: “Read this plus…”

Rating: 5 stars

get a good book on closing. I know Lytle doesn’t like closing lines but you have to say something when asking for the sale. I don’t think this is the only book you need but it is very good. I gained quite a bit from it and it is definitely from a different view than most of what is out there. This is worth the money and more importantly worth the time.

Book Review: Very helpful book

Rating: 5 stars

I bought this book as an “accidental salesperson” and found it very good idea to write my scholarship essay about it. Although I am already doing some of things it mentions, there are a lot more areas I can now expand on. I am in the software development industry with no prior sales training. it is good to get some thoughts/tools that will work with selling complex software installations. I highly recommend this book for anyone selling software, or other items that need a more thorough sales process than selling coke at a drink stand (even then I am sure it would still help).

Book Review: Simple and effective

Rating: 5 stars

There are gems of wisdom in this book for even the most seasoned sales executive. I keep it on my desk for inspiration. Do you sometimes fear making a call to an account you don’t know very well? Are you sometimes uncomfortable asking for the business? Lytle has written a fantastic book.

Book Review: It Really Works!!

Rating: 5 stars

I have found I have been getting much better responses from this book when working on specific prospects, and the “Endless Referrals” book when I am in a networking situation.

For example, I met a prospect at a social function, I listened while asking questions about him, it seemed to going great. I tried to follow-up afterwards, however, he was not taking my calls. I then used the lottery ticket method, and the next time I called he took my call. I now have an appointment with him.

Additionally, I have been getting great response from prospects that I send seeds to.
